C and C++ are two of the most common and most important programing languages in current use. They are standard tools for most systems-level development and are, alongside with Fortran, the main languages for writing high-performance numerical code.
In this short training we aim to give you an introduction to the C and C++ programming languages.
TBD
This is an interactive session (as much as time will allow), so bring a laptop and make sure you can access the cluster beforehand.
This session is not an introduction to programming. Instead this is for those of you that are already familiar with programming in languages such as Python, Matlab and so on, and want to learn C and C++ in the near future:
A two-hour session can of course not cover a whole programming language in depth (never mind two). Instead we will give you a condensed introduction to the specifics of these languages, so that you can understand the syntax, recognize common usage patterns and quickly get up to speed on your own.
We will touch on (still subject to change):
This is a pilot seminar, and the scope, the time frame and the content are all very much in flux. Join us to learn C and C++, and help us make the training session as great as it can be!
